NFL Draft 2023: Trade rumors swirl around No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young

With the NFL Draft just over a month away, trade rumors are starting to swirl around the No. 1 overall pick. The Indianapolis Colts currently hold the top spot, and they are reportedly considering trading the pick to the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are in need of a franchise quarterback, and they are willing to give up a significant package of picks to move up to No. 1.

The Colts are reportedly looking for a young, proven quarterback in return for the No. 1 pick. The Panthers have a number of options at quarterback, including Sam Darnold, Matt Corral, and P.J. Walker. Darnold is the most experienced of the three, but he has struggled to live up to expectations in Carolina. Corral is a talented young quarterback, but he is coming off a season-ending injury. Walker is a solid backup, but he is not a long-term solution at quarterback.

If the Colts do trade the No. 1 pick to the Panthers, they will likely receive a package of picks that includes a first-round pick in 2023 and a future first-round pick. The Colts could use the picks to address other needs on their roster, such as wide receiver, offensive tackle, and defensive end.

The NFL Draft is always full of surprises, and the trade rumors surrounding the No. 1 overall pick are just one example of that. It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out in the weeks leading up to the draft.
